How to manage a team?

Before going into how to manage a team, lets first understand what is a team?

Team is a group of people with different ideas, policies, attitudes, coming from different walks of life, different background forming together to achieve a common objective in an idealistic way.

Managing a team needs balance of emotions towards individuals, balancing lenience and bossiness.

Not only motivation but to be approachable is very important.

If u want to be a good manager, you need to be approachable.

Leading a team is like combining the skill sets of all the individuals to achieve common goals i.e., team objective.

Its very difficult to use different skills of different people making a perfect mix of all those to get things done.

1 Make the team feel comfortable under your guidance.

2 Make them feel confident that you are a capable person and you will help in their growth

3 Always be approachable

4 Never let your emotions break. Behave sensibly

5 Motivate your team in every possible way.

6 Know individuals as persons. Build a good rapport with every one in professional way

7 Know their key strengths and put them in use for best results for the team

8 Always be on your toes to help them.

9 Be ready to take negative feedback and try to change the perception.

10 Avoid rude behavior or bossy attitude towards the team. It damages the whole concept of TEAM. It demotivates and seeds ego and bring conflicts within the team.

11 Do not make partiality clear to team. Treat everyone as important as the other individual

12 Always be enthusiastic and energetic. Remember, its you who has to be charged so that your team follow you ideally. Never let your guns down.
